Command Sgt. Maj. Robert G. Todd previously served as 6th Squadron, 9th U.S. Cavalry Regiment Command Sergeant Major at Fort Hood, Texas.

Command Sgt. Maj. Todd enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserves on Sept. 17, 1985. Honorably discharged Sept. 17, 1987, he served in the Army National Guard until June 1991.

He entered the active Army on June 1, 1991, as a member of A Co., 2nd Battalion, 1st Armored Training Brigade, Fort Knox, Kentucky, which began his long career in the Armor Branch.

His assignments include: 2nd Battalion 37th Armor, Vilseck, Germany; 1st Battalion, 11th Armor Cavalry Regiment, Fort Irwin, California; Alpha Co, 1st Battalion 67th Armor, Fort Hood; Bravo Co, 1st Battalion 46th Infantry, Fort Knox; 1st Battalion 67th Armor, Fort Hood; 1st Battalion 12th Infantry, Fort Hood; Headquarters and Headquarters Co, 4th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, Fort Hood; 1st Battalion 305th Armor Task Force and 158th Infantry Brigade, Camp Shelby, Mississippi; 1st Battalion 72nd Armor, Camp Casey, Korea .

His overseas assignments include three combat tours in Iraq.

Command Sgt. Maj. Todd's military education includes: Noncommissioned Officer Course; Advanced NCO Course; First Sergeant Course; and the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy. He also holds an associate degree in Applied Science in Environmental, Safety and Security Technologies.
