Adaptive professionals setting the Army standard for support to Strong Europe Communities
USAG Bavaria is a valued member of the Installation Command community and demonstrates valuable support to the overall U.S. Army Europe and 7th Army Training Command missions. Service members, Civilians and their Families within our footprint are confident that we will consistently meet their needs and remain dedicated to serving them. Members of USAG Bavaria are proud of their role, know that they are valued, and experience a positive and rewarding working environment.
U.S. Army Garrison Grafenwoehr was redesignated as U.S. Army Garrison Bavaria in 2013. USAG Bavaria now overseas Army installations in Grafenwoehr, Vilseck, Hohenfels and Garmisch.
USAG Bavaria encompasses and provides service to U.S. Army installations in Grafenwoehr (Tower Barracks), Vilseck (Rose Barracks), Hohenfels (Hohenfels Training Area) and Garmisch (Artillery Kasern and Sheridan Barracks).
USAG Bavaria has approximately 35,500 community members. To put our population in perspective, the National League of Cities data shows that over 90% of municipal governments in the U.S. have populations under 25,000. We are a large municipality.
Like large municipalities, we are service providers. However, USAG Bavaria is responsible for providing services that civilian municipalities are not chartered to provide such as the sustainment, restoration, and modernization of all facilities within our installation borders. Unlike most municipalities, USAG Bavaria also funds all utilities services within our footprint.
